Description of the workshop

• This workshop aims at arousing interests of participants in mechanisms in mechanical systems through assembling an 8-legged walker. This walker incorporates the Klann's linkage mechanism, which simulates the gait of legged animal. Also, this walker is mostly constructed by components which are "commercial off-the-shelf" (COTS) and with a few 3D printed ones, which means that they can be easily purchased from external companies and can be re-created by general public easily.
• 本工作坊旨在通過組裝8足步行機器人激發參與者對機械結構的興趣。這款步行機器人採用了 Klann Linkage (六連桿結構)，可以模擬動物腿部的步伐。此外，這款步行機器人主要由「現成商業產品」（COTS) 和一些 DIY 3D 打印的組件構成，這代表公眾可以容易購買現成零件，並加入自製組件進行二次創作。

Notes:

1. Each session will accommodate 5 teams, each team is expected to have 1 teacher and at most 4 students

Participation by Schools

Schools can participate in two ways:

1. Provide helpers in running workshop
   1. each school is expected to provide at least 5 students as helpers, with each student helping one team during a workshop session
   2. school can offer support for one session, or can be more
   3. a training session will be offered to helpers, most likely in the week of 27 Sep 2021
   4. school offering students as helpers will be acknowledged as "collaborating organization" in the workshop and promotion materials

2. Participate in one workshop session
